Defending champion Sarah LeBrun Ingram, 27, of Nashville, Tenn., won her third title in four years when she defeated Marla Jemsek, of Oviedo, Fla., 2 and 1, in the final match of the 8th U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, held at the 5,975-yard, par 35-37-72 Tacoma Country & Golf Club, in Tacoma, Wash.

Ingram fell one down at the fifth hole, but rallied to win the ninth hole to square the match at the turn. She won the 10th and 13th holes to take a commanding two-hole lead that held up through the final hole. Ingram has now won the 1991, 1993, and 1994 Women's Mid-Amateur Championships. She is the only player to win the event more than once.
